Events and Initiatives Promoting Keighley
There are exciting plans afoot for the whole of Airedale and these plus existing investment in Keighley and District and the increasing recognition of the positive red
“K†and sportKeighley, will serve to encourage identity and local pride in being part of a confident, exciting, dynamic, successful and active community.
In Keighley we have the opportunity, infrastructure and resources to be a centre of sport and physical activity. This in itself can lead to training, education and jobs, and assist with the general economic regeneration throughout the district, including such sectors as coaching, tourism, equipment development and healthcare.
The promotion of festivals, special events, national initiatives, conferences, seminars, sports events, exchange visits and associated cultural activities, including existing local events such as the Keighley Festival, Gala and the Keighley Show, provide the opportunity to showcase Keighley and all of the activities going on in the area, not only to visitors but also to all parts of the local population.
